Expo 2017 Astana

The theme of the event is Future Energy, addressing global energy-related challenges that have a direct impact on the basic aspects of our lives.

115 countries, 22 international organizations and up to 5 million visitors will participate to the international exhibition in Astana.

The mission of Future Energy is to appeal to the international community’s sense of responsibility by way of institutions, organizations, corporations, and individuals, with the aim of generating debate and awareness regarding the decisive impact that energy management has on the lives of people and that of the planet.

It is also the place where technological innovations in the field of “green energy” will be presented. Their development and improvement are based on the need to replenish energy shortage, to resolve environmental issues and to launch a new phase of technological development of the world economy.


The main theme of the international exhibition “EXPO Astana 2017”. The exhibition started on 10th of June with a spectacular multimedia show.


The conventional energy sources are running low fast and alternative energy sources are becoming more and more necessary. How will the energy look like in the future? The participants of #EXPO2017Astana will try to answer this question. The focus of the exhibition is on Future Energy.


The exhibition complex of #EXPO2017Astana employs the use of Smart Grid technology and the integration of renewable energy sources. This technology allows for real-time monitoring of energy use.


At EXPO 2017 Astana, 4th of July was dedicated to China which, together with the 10 largest local energy companies, will present their achievements in the field of alternative energy. CEFC China is one of these companies and a strategic partner of KazMunayGaz and KazMunayGas International, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan's oil and Gas Company.


Nur Alem sphere, the Kazakhstan pavilion, is the architectural symbol of the #EXPO2017Astana. It is the central element of the Exhibition Complex. Here are some very impressive key facts about this outstanding building.
