Rompetrol supports the authorities from the Republic of Moldova with fuels

KMG International, through its subsidiary Rompetrol Moldova, will donate 6,500 liters of fuel to the local authorities in Chisinau, Soroca, Hânceşti, Balti and Ungheni. The purpose of the action is to support efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 virus.

"It is time to show solidarity and support the efforts of the authorities in the fight against the pandemic caused by the new type of coronavirus, COVID-19. In the situation created, it is very important to support the doctors and the medical staff, who work continuously and save the lives of people. I thank our colleagues working under the Rompetrol brand for professionalism and for all measures taken to protect employees and customers, but also to deliver uninterrupted fuel in the safest conditions”, said Askar Zhaparov, General Manager of Rompetrol Moldova.

The fuel will be allocated to the municipal authorities directly responsible and involved in disinfecting public places, delivering and providing medical products and equipment, but also in transferring medical staff to hospitals and their homes.

All companies that are part of the KMG International Group, including Rompetrol Moldova, have recently activated their crisis management plan for the Group's operations and activities throughout the Black Sea region. It complies with all recommendations and decisions taken by local and central authorities.

At the beginning of February, in the context of the spread of the new type of coronavirus, companies within the KMG International Group, including Rompetrol Moldova, implemented a series of measures to protect employees, customers and the workspace (administrative buildings, warehouses, workstations and fuel stations). At the headquarters level, a flexible work schedule for employees was introduced, as well as the possibility to work from home, but also other specific measures such as limiting / canceling trips in the interest of work, reintegration upon returning from a trip abroad (work from home for at least 7 days after returning from unaffected areas and 14 days from returning from affected areas) or limiting meetings (physical presence of maximum 7 persons).

At the same time, the company has taken all the necessary measures to minimize the risks related to any interruptions in the supply of products and fuels to gas stations and corporate customers.

With regard to the workspaces, additional measures were taken to increase the hygiene actions of the common spaces (the hygiene / disinfection of the direct contact surfaces from hour to hour, the cleaning / washing of the floor at least four times a day), equipping with materials (disinfectants, masks, gloves), informing employees about the improvement of hygiene, behavior and prevention measures.

From the concern for the health and safety of the employees and clients, the stocks of specific materials / consumables (disinfectants, wet wipes, etc.) were supplemented. At the same time, measures have been taken such as maintaining a distance between customers of at least one meter or decongesting the traffic at the fuel stations.

Rompetrol Moldova encourages its customers to comply with all indications of the personnel from the petrol stations and to comply with the measures adopted to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Also, the company recommends customers to fuel with the "Card Rompetrol" card, to pay directly at the pump and thus to reduce the interaction in the stations.
