The Rompetrol Group has finalized the modernization of the medical station

The Rompetrol Group through the national program of social responsibility “Together for everybody” has supported the rehabilitation of the medical dispensary in Lita village, Teleorman county.

The offered support is 10,000 Euros worth. “The target of CSR programs of The Rompetrol Group is the development and support of two fields, essential for the development of the society: health and environment protection.

In 2011 we have assigned 275,000 USD in order to implement 19 projects that have been announced eligible within the framework of the “Together for everybody” program.

We wish our support and interventions to produce changes to the good in local communities and to generate new directions of social involvement”, declares Oana Năstase, Communication and Corporate Affairs Manager of The Rompetrol Group.

The medical station in Lita village having the surface of 80 square meters, was built 55 years ago and previously did not benefit of complete rehabilitation works. So, the target of the project implemented in the period between August,15 and October, 30, 2011 was the modernization of the building (heat insulation, mounting of PVC doors and windows, reinforcement of the walls and ceiling, fitting rooms with ceramic tiles, walls’ painting).

As well, inside the medical station sanitary conveniences have been arranged and there were purchased a new air-conditioning unit and a heating unit using fuel-wood in order to provide the thermal comfort.

Rehabilitation works have been done with the help of 30 volunteers, who alongside with the medical doctor and nurses involved themselves in the project promotion and organization of school workshops debating subjects related to health.

The partnership with the village school has involved more than 50 pupils in secondary project activities on weekly basis. "I belong to this locality, I was born and a I have spent my childhood here. After University and internship I returned into a world were medics come and go away.

I stayed as a family doctor and tried to know better community problems and to help them having a better health. The building has to be renovated and the “Together for everybody” program has represented a fantastic opportunity for village people.

This very project did not only raise the level of the medical act, but took out citizens from inertia specific to rural localities and have engaged them in interesting activities”, has declared Medical Doctor Ioana Mantă.

The medical station in Lita village provides medical primary and school assistance for approximately 3,100 inhabitants, the majority of the population
