The Rompetrol Group will start drilling in Focşani perimeter

The Rompetrol Group, through the Upstream Division, will start the drilling works for the first well of geological survey in Focşani perimeter, which has been leased by the company since 2005.

The prospecting well Kaz 1 will be located in the North-Western part of the perimeter, not far from Fitioneşti, and will have a designed depth of approximately 4,200 metres. At the same time, the company intends to run a 2D seismic recording software (minimum 200 km) in the South-Western area (Pruneni) in order to increase the exploration potential of the block.

Until now, such operations have been done exclusively on oil fields of Kazakstan. This is a new achievement in the strategy of The Rompetrol Group and part of long term objective of KMG, to be among the Top 30 oil and gas companies worldwide”, said Zhanat Tussupbekov, general manager of the Rompetrol Group says.
The total value of the project this year is estimated at more than 10 million USD and 17,5 million USD for 2013 .
