The fourth edition of Kazakh Film Festival

The fourth edition of Kazakh Film Festival shows three exceptional art movies at Cinema Elvire Popesco

 

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania, in collaboration with KMG International, brings to the Romanian cinephile public three masterpieces of Kazakh cinema as part of the 4th edition of Kazakh Film Festival. The event is one of the biggest of its kind in the region, organized at Cinema Elvire Popesco on December 11- 12.

 

“2018 marks the anniversary of 100 years of Romania and 27 years of independence of Kazakhstan. The three films with deep Kazakh roots presented during the Festival are shared with the Romanian public as a celebration of the two milestones we have reached which have shaped our national identities. These works of art are a reminder of our universal values and the devotement we all have for our cultural backgrounds” - H.E. Mr. Daulet Batrashev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania.

We are continuing this pledge with the fourth edition of the Kazakh Film Festival, which will bring the Kazakh culture and morals closer to the Romanian public” - Alexey Golovin, VP of KMG International.

 

During the 2 days of festival, the following films will be screened:

Tuesday, December 11, 19:30 – Paris Song | Amre (2018)

Wednesday, December 12, 18:00 – Spirit | Aruakh (2018)

Wednesday, December 12, 20:00 – Fate | Talan (2018)


 

Actors and representatives of KazakhFilm Studio will join the public for a questions and answers session at the end of the movies, while the well reputed movie critic Irina Margareta Nistor will participate at the opening of the Festival.

 

The partners of the event are The French Institute/ Cinema Elvire Popesco, and Kazakhfilm Studio. Tickets of 15 lei can be purchased from the Cinema Elvire Popesco’s pay desk or from online ticket vendors; on December 10 at the opening Gala, the access of the public is granted for free.

 

 

KMG International has developed, for more than 11 years, projects that promote the Romanian culture and identity in Kazakhstan (through partnership with Dacia Association – founded by Kazakhs of Romanian ancestry, living in the Karaganda region from Kazakhstan), as well as the Kazakh culture in Romania through events such as the Kazakh Film Festival (fourth edition in 2018), Astana City Festival at the village Museum Dimitrie Gusti. The Group supports and promotes, through the partnership with organizers of George Enescu International Contest - young talents, laureates of Kazakh origin of the George Enescu International Competition (Erzhan Kulibaev - violin, Amir Tebenikhin - piano).

 

 

About Kazakhstan

 

The rich history of this state situated in Central Asia, dates back to the Stone Age when Nomadic tribes have populated the region, but it was only at the beginning of the fifteenth century when the Kazakh identity came into being.

Currently, the Republic of Kazakhstan is ranked the ninth largest country in the world and has a diversified population of over 130 ethnic groups (due to massive deportations from Stalin’s era) and over 18 million inhabitants.
