KMG International launches the 2015 Internship program

KMG International, through its member companies, has launched the 2015 Internship program, addressed to those approximately 100 students selected to develop their professional skills and technical competences  for a successful career in oil and gas industry. The program will roll out between 27 of July – 11 of September, in Petromidia Navodari and Vega Ploiesti refineries, owned by KMG International.
 
`The Internship programs are part of the KMG International strategy aimed at investing  in human resources, not only within the company but also within the communities, where we develop our activities. Implemented on the two industrial platforms – Petromidia and Vega – the programs aim to transfer the know-how from our experts to the young people, who are at the beginning of their career. Since the launching of the Internship program’s first edition (2001) until now, over 550 students from the specialized universities from all around the country have been trained by the specialists of the two refiners, whereas the main part of the candidates have been employed later on`, declared Yedil Utekov, General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare, which operates Petromidia and Vega refineries.   
 
During the program’s implementation, the participants will be trained by the professionals within   Rompetrol Rafinare, Rominserv, Rompetrol Quality Control and Midia Marine Terminal companies, in such business area as production, laboratory activities, maintenance, sales and marketing, planning, risks management, QHSE.
 
The participants come from specialized universities from all around the country – Ovidius University from Constanta, Gas and Oil Faculty from Ploiesti. The Group has developed with these universities partnerships offering internship programs to students, graduates and Master degree students.
 
The students, who participate in the 2015 Internship program (72 on Petromidia platform and 26 in Vega refinery) have been selected among 150 candidates as a result of a recruiting campaign. During the selection, their technical and behavior competences were evaluated, as well as the team work abilities, their initiative and proactive attitude and also their orientation towards the results and clients. By the end of the program, KMG International specialists will assess the employability score of the students who participated in the program. 
Following the program rolled out in 2014, 50% out of 90 participants were hired within the KMG International member companies, in different areas of activity.
